This UnConference focuses on the importance of literacy and writing in a young child’s education. We are excited to share that celebrated artist and children’s author of the book Press Here, Hervé Tullet, joins us as keynote speaker! Enjoy a unique reading of Mr. Tullet’s books and hear his thoughts on how literature and art can expand the learning and world of children. Then, join Mr. Tullet in creating a one-of-a-kind piece of art. Along with our co-host Frick Art & Historical Center, local organizations who incorporate literacy in meaningful and innovative ways into the classroom will be featured in workshop sessions.
PAEYC is excited to host this UnConference with our co-host Frick Art and Historical Center. The day also features an interactive keynote with Hervé Tullet (be prepared to read and paint!) and workshop presentations by leading local organizations. The day closes with a round table discussion and reflections on how to continue our work beyond the UnConference.
The workshops are developmentally appropriate practice for educators and caregivers working with children ages birth through age nine. However, many of the workshop offerings can also apply to students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade.
