100 Dads for Take A Father to School Day Proclamation

Tuesday, April 25, 2017 -
9:30am to 12:00pm

Planning is underway for an annual event that welcomes thousands of dads to go to school with their children.

But, before that day, Pittsburgh Public Schools is inviting all dads to City Council Chambers to receive a proclamation declaring May 19, 2017, as the 19th Annual Take a Father to School Day in the City of Pittsburgh. As the annual celebration grows, Founder Mark Brentley Sr. and the Take a Father to School Day (TAFTSD) Committee are looking for a few good men- 100 to be exact - to join other community leaders and male role models to represent the initiative next Tuesday. Before the proclamation ceremony, attendees will have an opportunity to network over coffee and then afterwards, all men will convene on the front portico for lunch.

Last year, more than 5,000 men visited Pittsburgh Public Schools to spend the day at school with their children. This year’s TAFTSD theme is 3D: Dads Doing their Duty. Pittsburgh Public Schools dads are deployed and active in their child’s life and education.
