The first part of this series emphasizes the importance of building relationships with families and developing a collaborative approach.
In Part 2, Participants will engage in activities and discussions that will explore how to strengthen relationships will all types of diverse families. In order to be effective teachers we must understand the families from which the children come from and the be able to identify the opportunities that exist for support and resources.
Part 3 of this series will address the triangular relationship between early educators, children and families, and community resources. Definitions and descriptions of families, community resources, and what is meant by a "collaborative, working relationship" will be discussed. There will be opportunities for participants to share strategies for building and maintaining relationships with families.
