Governor Wolf will deliver his 2017-18 budget address on February 7, 2017. As part of the Early Learning PA network, PAEYC has been advocating for the following investments:
- $85 million for childcare to raise tiered reimbursement rates for programs that have made a commitment to quality, and ensure all programs are treated equally when payment is made at each STAR level
- $85 million for Pre-K to expand an additional 10,000 slots of high quality Pre-K for 3- and 4-year olds.
- $10 million to support the four evidence-based home visiting models currently funding through Pennsylvania’s MIECHV program and provide a rate increase for Nurse-Family Partnership and Parents as Teachers to support increased cost of high-quality services.
Following the release of Governor Wolf’s proposed budget for the Commonwealth, we will begin advocating to legislators regarding early learning budget items. To support our policy team in this work, sign up here!
Thank you for your continued support of PAEYC and your ongoing advocacy and leadership to ensure that investing in high-quality early care and education is a priority for our state!
